Cable-based fall arrest and fall restraint systems have become increasingly prevalent over the last few years, and many workers rely on them to provide safety while working at height. It is a statutory as well as moral obligation to ensure that such equipment is periodically inspected and tested, usually on an annual basis, by competent persons. Access Testing are approved by all major manufacturers of cable fall arrest systems to install, test and inspect their product.
Following the testing and inspection of fall restraint and fall arrest systems, we provide test certificates and a report detailing any remedial works required to bring the systems into compliance if there is a fault, and also any recommendations for improving the overall access strategy where appropriate. Whilst on site we will also inspect and certify, free of charge, any system specific user equipment / PPE on site, and issue recommendations accordingly.
If a system is designed as being fall arrest, a rescue plan must be put in place to enable the safe retrieval of an operative who has fallen. Our training company offers a comprehensive rescue and evacuation training course. This is aimed at site operatives and will ensure that they are able to retrieve a colleague who has fallen from height in a fall arrest situation.
